War by System of a Down

Dark is the light,The man you fight,With all your prayers, incantations, Running away, a trivial day,Of judgment and deliverance,To whom was sold, this bounty soul, A gentile or a priest ? Who victored over, the Seljuks,When the holy land was takenWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens We will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens Was it the riches, of the land,Powers of bright darkness,That lead the noble, to the East,To fight the lordWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens We will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathensWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens We will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens We must call upon our bright darkness, Beliefs, they're the bullets of the wicked,One was written on the sword, For you must enter a room to destroy it, destroy it, destroy it.No International security, No Call of the righteous man,Needs a reason to kill a man, History teaches us so, The reason he must attain,Must be approved by his God, His child, partisan brother of war, Of war, we don't speak anymore,Of war, we don't speak anymore, Of war, we don't speak anymore,Of war, we don't speak anymore, We will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathensWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathensWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathensWe will fight the heathens, We will fight the heathens

Hip Hop By Dead Prez Lyrics

Uh, uh, uh, 1, 2, 1, 2
Uh, uh, 1, 2, 1, 2, uh,uh
All my dogs

Its bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip
Its bigger than hip hop, hip hop, hip hop, hip hop

Uh, one thing bout music, when it hit you feel no pain
White folks say it controls your brain
I know better than that, thats game and we ready for that
Two soldiers head of the pack, matter of fact who got the gat? And where my army at?
Rather attack and not react Back the beats, it dont reflect on how many records get sold
On sex, drugs, and rock and roll, whether your projects put on hold
In the real world, these just people with ideas
They just like me and you when the smoke and camera disappearAgain the real world (world), its bigger than all these fake ass records
When poor folks got the millions and my womans disrespected
If you check 1,2, my word of advice to you is just relax

Just do what you got to do, if that dont work then kick the facts
If you a fighter, rider, ? bouter? , flame ignitor, crowd exciter
Or you wanna just get high, then just say it
But then if you a liar-liar, pants on fire, wolf-cry agent with a wire
Im gonna know it when I play itHookUh, who shot biggie smalls?
If we dont get them, they gonna get us all
Im down for runnin up on them crackers in they city hall
We ride for yall, all my dogs stay real
Nigga dont think these record deals gonna feed your seeds
And pay your bills because they not
Mcs get a little bit of love and think they hot
Talkin bout how much money they got, all yall records sound the same
I sick of that fake thug, r & b, rap scenario all day on the radioSame scenes in the video, monotonous material, yall dont here me though
These record labels slang our tapes like dope
You can be next in line, and signed, and still be writing rhymes and broke

You would rather have a lexus, some justice, a dream or some substance? A beamer, a necklace or freedom? Still a nigga like me dont playa hate, I just stay awake
This real hip hop, and it dont stop until we get the po-po off the blockThey call it....

Uh, dps got that crazy shit we keep it crunk up
John blazed and shit what

RepeatFake, fake, fake records

Metaphors and Similes

All songs have a form of metaphors or an actual metaphor or two. Metaphors in many peoples eyes can mean one thing or many other things. Similes I think are a bit misguiding when it comes to trying to describe something with a simile. Metaphors can help describe something to someone way easier then a plain old saying can for example " A Stairway to Heaven" to one person can mean an easy way to seek savior or simply a stair case in the clouds that supposedly leads to heaven. A simile to me can be confusing when it comes to describing something because something simply as an ordinary boring object or stupid subject can be used to describe something.

Job For A Cowboy - Entombment of a Machine.

[Intro]

It Bleeds. It Breathes. What Stands Before Us,

Is Not A Machine.It Breathes,

It Will Bleed, And It Will Dream.

[Chorus]

Its Body Is Covered In Hundreds Of Wires. And A Mouth That Attempts To Speak It Attempts to Lie. Only Murmurs Collapse From Its Jaws. And A World, A World Without. A World Without You But I Rise. The Dead Will Pride. It Breathes, Beyond This Life.So Sleep, Sleep Among us and Hesitate No More.Entombment Of A Machine. We Kneel And We Plead For No Mourning Ahead Of Us. With Only Delayed Movements From Its Figure We All Begin To Strain. The life is over like that machine life is over now, while it bleed. What Stands Before Us Is Not A Machine. What Stands Before Us Is Not A Machine.

[Verse]

My Legs Weaken At The Sight Of This Damaged Program. This Program Kept You Breathing. It Kept You Alive. These Circuits Diffused Once More.

[Bridge]

Its Body Is Covered In Hundreds Of Wires. Only Murmurs Collapse From Its Scream.

Entombment Of A Machine.

[Outro]

But I Saw It Die.But I Saw it Die. But I Saw It Dead. But I saw It Die. We Saw It Die.We Watched It Die!

Immortal Technique (Harlem Streets)

I picked this song because it's about the hardships and the description of the Harlem streets of New York. In many ways this can relate to my theme choice because it also explains how the streets of Harlem, New York can lead to a downfall of a single person or a whole family, I think it is influenced by the way people look at it. Also its explaining the distress that it can bring upon people who live there.

[Verse1]

Yeah.... Harlem streets stay flooded in white powder Like those mother f****** runnin' away from the twin towers Gun shots rock the earth like a meteor shower Bowling For Columbine, fair, giving the media power Innocence devoured like a chicken spot snack box Government cocain cooked into ghetto crack rock Corrupt cops false testimony at your arraignment Check to check, constant struggle to make the payments Working your whole life wondering where the day went The subway stays pakced like a multi-cultural slave ship It's rush hour, 2:30 to 8, non stoppin' And people coming home after corporate share croppin And f*** flossin, mothers are trying to feed children But gentrification is kicking them out of their building A generation of babies born without health care Families homeless, thrown the fuck off of the welfare

[Hook]

Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem?

[Verse2]

It's like Cambodia the killing fields uptown We live in distress and hang the flag upside down The sound of conservative politicians on television People in the hood are blind so they tell us to listen They vote for us to go to war instantly But none of their kids serving the infantry The odds are stacked against us like a casino Think about it, most of the army is black and latino And if you can't acknowledge the reality of my words You just another stupid mother f***** out on the curb Trying to escape from the ghetto with your ignorant ways But you can't read history at an illiterate stage And you can't raise a family on minimum wage Why the f*** you think most of us are locked in a cage I give niggaz the truth, cause they pride is indigent You better off rich and guilty than poor and innocent But I'm sick of feeling impotent watching the world burn In the era of apocalypse waiting my turn I'm a Harlem nigga that's concerned with the future And if your in my way it'd be an honor to shoot ya Up root ya with the evil that grows in my people Making them deceitful, cannibalistic and lethal But I see through the mentality implanted in us And I educate my fam about who we should trust

[Hook]

Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem? Homicide Harldem, BLAOW!, what's the problem?
